Saffron and Lotus in Ayurvedic Skincare

Saffron threads on a wooden spoon

Saffron (kesar) and lotus (kamala) appear again and again in traditional Indian beauty rituals. One is a precious golden spice, the other a flower that stands for purity. Together they inspire our Saffron & Lotus range.

Saffron: the golden spice

Saffron is made from the delicate threads of the crocus flower and is among the most prized spices in the world. In Ayurvedic tradition it has long been used in skin-care preparations for its golden colour and its place in beauty rituals.

Lotus: the cooling flower

Lotus, or kamala, is associated with a cool, soothing quality in Ayurveda. Lotus petals and extracts are a familiar part of gentle face care.

How to use them in your routine

  • Cleanse with a gentle face wash such as our Saffron & Lotus Face Wash.
  • Follow with a few drops of face serum on clean skin.
  • Use daily, morning and evening, for a consistent routine.

Good to know

Skin is personal. Patch test any new product on a small area first, and stop use if you notice irritation.
